Update 6.7+ and iPadOS 26 issues

I have the same problem now. Started last monday. Always asking for an update to version 6.70
-
When I open the app store it seems to update, but it does not.0

I have this same issue. In addition, the text and notes on my screen become scrambled when I move through the score. The will eventually “reposition” to their correct spots but this is extremely annoying and creates long delays in my writing. The problem is particularly difficult with lyrics. This seemed to occur after updating to 6.7 AND at the same time updating to iOS 26. Not sure if the two are related.0

@timothyehlingerSorry to hear about the issue. The current 6.7 version isn't yet ready for iPadOS 26, but the goal for the following update is to make things fully reliable.Given the severity of the bug, an emergency update is on the way, and we'd appreciate any copy of an affected project as a .sym file via support@symphonypro.net to verify that it's fully resolved.0

As of SP 6.7, a workaround that to seems to help is to avoid swiping to scroll if the scroll view is already moving. Instead, first stop the scroll view from moving via a single tap, then wait for a moment before scrolling again. This also helps to work around the issue where the scroll location jumps to a different, incorrect location in the score.0 -
6.7.3 issue with the pop-up edit tool when selecting notes, measures etc. …pop-up menu appears when an area is selected but nothing then happens when an option (e.g. “edit measures”) is attempted from the pop-up menu…the menu box just disappears.0

@BachString
Sorry about the issue. Another emergency update is on the way in the next few days.0 -
I have this problem too. It makes the app unuseable for me!0

@Derekwalden
Sorry about the issue. A big update is still on the way.
Please consider the following alternate options for some of the features:
- An alternate way to access Edit Measures (i.e. opening the Measure Dialog context menu) is tapping with two fingers on the measure
- To open the Region Selection Area (e.g. for copy or paste), an alternate option is to long-press on an empty space (next to a bar or note) in Select Mode as described in the help section.0 -
Hello. After yesterday's iPadOS update, symphony pro does not load.

@tomtri
Thanks for letting us know, though we are sorry to hear that. We're looking into this now for an immediate update.
We would appreciate a short description of the exact issue to expedite the process of fixing it. For example, is it a crash when opening the app, or is it a specific project or other document that doesn't load correctly?

Thanks for the quick response. I tried the same thing all day yesterday and today but without success. The blue screen appears with the symphony symbol, it tries to enter the application for a few seconds and then crashes.0

@tomtri
The next thing you should try is opening Home Screen > Settings and resetting the SP app-specific settings as illustrated in the manual under Resetting the Application Cache & Settings. This won't cause saved work to be lost, though the app preferences (e.g. UI layout settings) will be reset to their defaults.
Please let us know whether or not this helps as we still work urgently to fix this critical issue. We haven't been able to reproduce this on iOS 26.1 yet, and so we would appreciate as much further info as possible about the nature of the crash, including:
- Your exact iPadOS version under Home Screen > Settings > General > About. If you have beta /preview iOS updates enabled, please let us know.
- If you are updated to the latest version of SP on the App Store, or if you have an earlier version.0 -
Hi again. I did exactly as you said several times,but still nothing. Everything last update..IPadOS 26.1 and so on.0
-
Still nothing.0

Hello. I deleted all the files from the symphony folder (after copying them elsewhere before). I tried to re-enter the program and I was immediately logged in. Then I put them back in the folder and the problem came back. I have around 2500 files. Is it related to Ram? What should I do?

@tomtri
Thanks so much for the follow-up and the crucial details. This is something that we need to fix.
We would next like to know your iPad model and its total/available storage to figure out if this is related to the RAM or storage, respectively.0 -
iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd generation)
256Gb
4Gb Ram
Also before that problem occurs, symphony was very slow ..very heavy...the more projects the slower became the program.0 -
Free space 60Gb0

I just had the same issue today, asking for an update to v6.77. It appears that with the latest update, the issue of the recurring update request is still occurring. Has there been a solution for this? I have followed the previous suggestions, including removing and reinstalling the application, which did not solve the issue.
My current iPad is the M2 Pro model and iPadOS v26.2. I currently have over 350GB of free space, so available RAM is not an issue.0 -
@jonathancw
Let us know which issue you're referring to:
(a) the update notification appearing when you've already updated issue, or
(b) the app not loading properly and/or crashing?
If the latter: we've tried to resolve some rare situations where the app screen might have went blank or not load a file. It's apparent we still need more details and have more bugs to resolve. We would like to know what exactly occurs: whether it's an exit to the Home Screen, a blank screen, or some other crash. Second we'd like to know how frequently the issue occurs and how to retrace it. Given the severity of the issue, it's our top priority to fix it as soon as possible.0 -
Sorry, I should have been a little clearer.
The issue is that after getting an initial notification that there was an available update and then completing the update process, I continue to get a screen when I open the application that says "New Update Available. SP 6.7.7 is available. Your currently installed version, 6.7.6, is detected to be a previous version." When I select the option that says "Go to update", it takes me to the App Store and to the same location that I previously went to update the app, but with no option to update, just open the app.
I was hoping to verify which version was installed by going to Settings->Apps->Symphony Pro 6, but it only shows up as "SP 6"; no additional version numbers. A helpful feature for troubleshooting would be to update this section and include a detailed version number installed. But...according to Settings->General->iPad Storage->Symphony Pro 6, the version on the iPad appears as 6.7.7. If that is correct, then the logic in the latest app is incorrectly interpreting the version number and continuing to prompt the user even after the latest version has been installed.0 -
Thanks for the follow-up and details, though we apologize again for the inconvenience this caused. The issue will finally be correctly resolved in the next update.jonathancw said:Sorry, I should have been a little clearer.
