quick MIDI enable/disable

i use my midi keyboard to THINK before i write..... it would be really useful to have the MIDI input enable as a button on the screen... i have tried toggling the pencil/eraser/arrow, etc... and then pulling down the option list, but there is not an easy (fast) way to turn OFF and ON the midi input... (actually, there is no way to have the MIDI input ON, and not to WRITE directly to the score..>!_)

please rectify this problem.

To disable MIDI input without returning to the Score menu, one workaround is to deselect the on-screen piano button. This limits you to edit the score by tapping instead of the using input/select cursor, but it's still an option to keep in mind.
