Having difficulty connecting to Clavinova 535

We have SymphonyPro 4.2 which we could connect to a Technics SX-PX 205, but the notes populated only the treble staff in a very jumbled fashion.  The Technics finally died, so we bought a Clavinova 535.

The Yamaha applications on the iPad recognize the CLP535, but Symphony Pro does not.  We've tried the lightning cable/camera connection to the midi ports (direct wired connectivity) as well as a USB LAN wireless connection (both direct connection to the iPad and via a network).  Again, just to emphasize, the Yamaha applications have no difficulty using the three different connection methods.

Any suggestions?
