Open HiHat Sound

Where can I find the Open HiHat Sound in Edit mode? I found the symbol (the little white circle with black outline), but in Playback mode the sound does not play.

  I'd love an answer to this, too... open to closed hi-hat sound. how to assign open hat voice to an eighth note and a closed hat voice to the following one.
