textbox fails to expand when entering chords or lyrics

A few updates ago, the textbox stopped expanding when you enter each character in chords or lyrics. This means that you can only see the last character or two that you typed; only when you finish typing does the box jump to the right size. Is it possible to change back to expanding the box after each character so you can see what you've typed?
