help with crescendo

I'm new to Symphony pro. I read the manual but im not finding this

I found what I believe is the crescendo icon. the manual says to add it and then ill get expandable buttons to adjust length and placement. I don't see those buttons. it just gives me a one note decrescendo symbol.I how can i actually specify crescendo/decrescendo symbols with custom length.

    This detail needs to be updated, sorry for the confusion. Adjusting the length of any extensible element is simply done using the handles that should show up on both ends of the symbol, and within the score.

    However: there's currently a bug where you might have to switch to Select mode (and tap the symbol directly) if the handles don't appear automatically after inputting.
